BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Knock Knock Children’s Museum and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants are teaming up to teach children about the importance of earning, saving, and spending wisely this coming weekend. This will take place on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30, during the “Earn & Learn—Financial Literacy Weekend.” The Society of Louisiana CPAs will also sponsor a Free Sunday at the Museum on Sunday, April 30.
The Earn & Learn Weekend teaches kids valuable money management skills through active play. Young people will learn about concepts such as earning, spending, saving, and giving.
The museum’s Learning Innovations staff, in conjunction with the Society of Louisiana CPAs, has developed a series of fun activities dealing with money management. By participating in the activities, children earn “coins” that can be spent purchasing items in the “Earn and Learn Shop.”
Earn & Learn: Financial Literacy Free Sunday, will offer two separate sessions. Session 1 will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m. Session 2 will start at 1:30 p.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Registration is strongly encouraged, but not required.
