BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Leaders in the capital region need your help identifying key issues for the city’s strategic plan. It’s part of a plan that stretches over the next five years.
FutureBR community plans include nine strategic areas like economic growth, safe and clean communities, and more. Leaders are asking for residents to provide feedback. “Each and every parcel and piece of property in East Baton Rouge Parish has a future land use designation. And that designation helps guide growth and development for our land use decisions and future development for East Baton Rouge Parish. So we’re going to be looking for feedback. Each one of these callers is designated for a particular type of development and land use. So we want to hear from the public on what the needs are, what are the challenges in their community and base revisions on the map on that feedback we get,” explained Ryan Holcomb, planning director of Planning Commission.
He goes on to say every response will be addressed one way or another. Leaders will be taking feedback until the end of July. You can give feedback by attending one of the six workshops that are planned for the community or online. The goal is to start working on a better Baton Rouge at the beginning of next year.
The next meeting will be at Carver Branch Library on Tuesday, June 27th. But if that does not work for you here are the other dates.
