BAKER, La. (BRPROUD) – The City of Zachary responded to Mayor Broome’s mask order and now so has the City of Baker.

Mayor Darnell Waites of Baker provided this statement:

In order to avoid or reduce COVID-19 infections and/or the spread of the same for the safety of all business employees, customers and citizens, I highly recommend that all business owners and managers require employees to wear CDC recommended facial coverings/masks and gloves while at work and that they insist and/or require customers who physically enter the place of business or customers who come in contact with business personnel do the same, and that all businesses operating within the City of Baker post or
place easily visible Written Notices for public view with these critical CDC and
Louisiana Department of Health facial coverings/masks and glove guidelines
and/or requirements.

As Mayor of the City of Baker I am in full agreement with the CDC and the Louisiana Department of Health’s guidelines and recommendations and I therefore strongly urge every citizen and visitor to wear a facial covering/mask and gloves at all times when in public in the City of Baker.
