City of Baton Rouge provides update on Hurricane Ida debris cleanup

City of Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Clean up after Hurricane Ida is ongoing in Baton Rouge.

Dozens of debris removal crews have been scouring the city picking up debris.

Residents may see even more trucks out on Friday as debris pickup ramps up.

If your area was impacted by Hurricane Ida, you can expect these crews to come by more than once.

The city has provided a guide on how to lay out your storm debris.

That guide is important because the City of Baton Rouge says, “our crews are seeing a significant amount of mixed debris piles. We cannot pick up storm debris that is mixed with other types of debris or trash. If residents have mixed debris piles in front of their home, our crews will not be able to collect debris.”

Strom debris pickup in East Baton Rouge Parish is expected to take around 3 months.
