The City of Baton Rouge is offering free tax preparation through its Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Program, an initiative of the IRS.
Certified tax preparers will be at four locations in East Baton Rouge Parish to assist tax payers.
Eligible candidates must meet the requirement of having a gross income of less than $55,000. Here’s where they can get help with their taxes:
- The Division of Human Development and Services, located at 4523 Plank Road in Baton Rouge, will offer services Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by appointment. For more information about this location, call (225) 358-4561.
- The Charles R. Kelly Community Center, located at 3535 Riley St. in Baton Rouge, will offer services by appointment on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (225) 357-5013 for more information.
