Tests are being done on the water in the city of Gonzales after issues Tuesday morning.

Many people woke up to find they had little to no water pressure. The city said half of the city is affected, as a few pumps are experiencing issues.

Workers were able to restore the pressure system, but the boil advisory is still in effect.

The city added, per DHH, there is a mandatory 24-hour sample holding period before an advisory can be lifted. Therefore, we will provide those results as soon as they become available tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and appreciate your patience.”

The City of Gonzales provided this Boil Advisory Update:

The pressure system has been restored, however the boil advisory won’t be lifted until later today. Out of an abundance of caution, we’d like to comply with standards and allow the Department of Health and Hospitals to test samples which will take few hours. We’ll let you all know when it’s been lifted.

Some residents in the City of Gonzales are waking up to little or no water access.

This is according to the government of the City of Gonzales who shared this message:

Many of you may be waking up this morning and finding that you have no running water, or that your pressure is incredibly low. Unfortunately half of the city is affected, as a few pumps are experiencing issues. Please know that we are aware, and that we have workers on site now who are assessing and fixing the situation. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope to have all issues resolved as soon as possible.

Workers are currently looking at the pumps that are not working.

After the situation is accessed, workers will fix the problem.

Due to the current situation, “The City of Gonzales Water System is issuing a boil water advisory due to an interruption of service. Additional information will be released when this advisory is lifted.”
