ZACHARY, La. (BRPROUD) – Mayor Broome said during a Wednesday news conference that with the implementation of an executive order, anyone who goes inside an EBR business will be required to wear a mask.

The City of Zachary has responded to what Mayor Broome said at today’s news conference.

Zachary Mayor David Amrhein had this to say about whether the executive order applies to the City of Zachary:

“The mandatory mask order issued by Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome today does not apply to the City of Zachary. The decision to wear a mask at local businesses in the City of Zachary shall be left up to the business owner. The City of Zachary will continue to require masks upon entering city owned properties.” Mayor Amrhein continues to support the CDC’s recommendation of practicing social or physical distancing of 6 feet.
