BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A groundbreaking ceremony is taking place on Friday morning at the former location of All Star Nissan.
The old All Star Nissan is set to become “the new facility for the City-Parish Department of Environmental Services.”
Mayor Broome hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at 11 a.m.
The new location will allow DES employees to work from one central place.
The mayor’s office provided these details about the project:
“Over the past several years, we have identified and implemented measures to create efficiencies that are saving millions of dollars each year while we constantly look for new and more innovative ways to serve the hundreds of thousands of residents who rely on us to deliver some of their most basic and vital daily services. Our Department of Environmental Services is a great example of this commitment in action,” said Mayor Broome.
The new City-Parish Department of Environmental Services building will be situated at 12422 Florida Blvd.
