The Coast Guard began looking for a possible person in the water on Wednesday.
The U.S. Coast Guard 8th District Heartland is searching in Bush Canal which resides in Terrebonne Parish.
The Coast Guard said a received a report “at approximately 12 p.m. of a vessel making way and without any passengers aboard.”
Another individual told the Coast Guard that someone was on the vessel earlier in the day.
These groups are involved in the search:
- Coast Guard 24’ Special Purpose Craft – Shallow Water boat crew
- Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter aircrew
- Terrebonne Sheriff’s Office
- Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries
The investigation into the cause of this incident remains open.
