The Coast Guard searched for a potentially missing boater in the Intracoastal Waterway near Amelia Tuesday.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report at 2:15 a.m. of a 16-foot aluminum skiff with the registration number LA1741FC adrift at mile marker 86 of the Intracoastal Waterway west of the Harvey Locks.

A 24-foot Special Purpose Craft boat crew from Coast Guard Station Grande Isle, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans and the St. Mary’s Parish Sheriff’s Office are involved in the search for the boater.
