Community bans together to paint mural of late activist Sadie Roberts-Joseph

BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC Local 33) (FOX 44) — East Baton Rouge Parish mayor-president Sharon Weston-Broome and members of Youth Workforce Experience partnered with The Walls Project and Build Baton Rouge to honor the legacy of Sadie Roberts-Joseph through community service.

Youth worked under the guidance of The Walls Project to paint a mural of Sadie Roberts-Joseph on Plank Road. 

Roberts-Joseph was found dead in the trunk of her car July 12, three miles from her home.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 22. Living Faith Christian Center will host the event. The public is invited to attend. The church requests that people wear church attire.
