BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – According to a recent social media post, the BR Community Fridge at YWC, located at the intersection of Government Street and 16th Street, was stolen on Labor Day (Monday, September 5).

An Instagram post composed by @yeswecannibal stated, “The BR Community Fridge at YWC has been stolen. Yes, we realize how insane this sounds.”

It continued, “We need a new fridge. Over the past year, BRCF has received many offers of fridges but there has been no need. However, if you have access to one that is relatively new and realtively high end, please DM @brcommunityfridge Thanks.”

The freezer is part of Baton Rouge Community Fridges, which is a charitable group that sets up freezers and refrigerators across the capital area to provide free food to those who need it.
