BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Companion Animal Alliance, the only open-intake shelter in East Baton Rouge Parish (EBRP), is calling on all animal lovers for assistance.
The shelter is urging locals who have the ability and means to help their community by fostering a pet.
Overwhelmed and in need of kennel space, Companion Animal Alliance says that in a span of only eight days, it’s become a temporary home to an additional 311 animals.
“We need help,” shelter officials wrote in a Tuesday (August 9) post on their official Facebook Page. “We are making an urgent call for animal lovers that are willing to take a foster pet into their home to alleviate much-needed kennel space.”
Those who are motivated and able to answer the call for help will find that becoming a Companion Animal Alliance foster is a relatively quick process and that the shelter provides many of the supplies the pet will need.
The shelter concluded its plea for help with the words, “Sign up now to save a life.”
