Convicted felon nicknamed, “Squalee Pope” arrested on gun and drug charges

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A multi-agency operation led to the apprehension of 45-year-old Trudell Richardson aka “Squalee Pope”.

Richardson was arrested on August 10 at a home located on Larkspur Ave.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, “Agents then simultaneously executed search warrants at all three warrant locations on Larkspur.”

This is what was found during the searches:

  • 1.6 ounces of Fentanyl (approx. street value $3,200)
  • 2 ounces of Manitol (used for cutting Fentanyl and/or heroin)
  • 2 ounces of marijuana
  • 2.7 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy)
  • 9mm AR Pistol
  • 5.56 AR Pistol
  • .22 caliber rifle
  • $10,402 (pending seizure)

EBRSO says that “Richardson is a convicted felon and was released in 2008 after serving approximately 8.5 years for Aggravated Battery.”

Trudell Richardson is facing these charges:

  • Distribution of Sch. II (affidavit warrant)
  • PWITD Sch. II (Fentanyl)
  • PWITD Sch. I (Marijuana)
  • Poss. of a Firearm with CDS
  • Poss. of Sch. I (MDMA)

These members of local law enforcement helped the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office with this case:

  • LSP Air Support

Richardson’s bail is set at $60,000.
