Coronavirus could impact LSU’s Study Abroad Program

BATON ROUGE, La(WVLA/WGMB)—LSU is considering calling off an upcomng study-abroad program amid the Coronavirus fears.
LSU student Chloe Landry says Spring break is right around the corner and she doesn’t plan to change her itinerary.

“I really haven’t considered the coronavirus being something to worry about I’m guessing it just never cross my mind,” says LSU
student Chloe Landry.

Landry said she is not really concerned about the Coronavirus but University officials are considering canceling an upcoming
study abroad trip to China, as reported cases of the Coronavirus continues to spread.

Southern University also tells us they’re monitoring updates with the Department of Health. Meanwhile Amy Lytle, with House of
Travel says concerns have come up with clients wanting to know what’s going on.

“What were hearing from our clients and their biggest concern right now is not so much getting sick because the chances of getting sick are very
small but they’re concerned about when they’re traveling that they might be quarantined or inconvenienced,” says Amy Lytle, Owner of House of Travel.
