SLIDELL, La. (BRPROUD) – The St. Tammany Parish Coroner confirms that the remains of 71-year-old Timothy Satterlee Sr. were found inside an alligator’s stomach.
That alligator attacked Satterlee Sr. on August 30 outside his home in Slidell.
The alligator was captured two weeks later and the autopsy was performed after it was euthanized.
With the help of DNA technology, the coroner “was able to make an 11-point DNA match with Satterlee’s children.”
“For legal purposes, a 16-point match is the general standard,” Preston said. “In this case, given the circumstances, I am satisfied that an 11-point match confirms these are Mr. Satterlee’s remains.”
