BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A little over one week ago, Baton Rouge General altered their visitation policy.

A look at last year’s inpatient numbers versus this year and you can understand why this decision was made by the hospital.

BRG broke down the differences below:

  • In last July’s surge, there was a spike but it wasn’t as drastic
  • We started last July with 37 inpatients and hit a high of 71 on July 20
  • We started this July with 10 inpatients and today, we have hit that same number (71)
