UPDATE: This crash was cleared shortly before 5 p.m.

BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC Local 33) (FOX 44) — Drivers traveling along I-10 eastbound across the Horace Wilkinson Bridge, commonly referred to as the New Bridge, found themselves traveling well below the speed limit this afternoon.

A crash involving a pick-up truck pulling a camper blocked two lanes on the eastside of the bridge, which spans the Mississippi River.

Emergency crews were on the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m. however, the damage to the vehicle(s) involved calling a tow truck which kept the lanes closed longer than expected.

Orange cones could be seen blocking off the two right lanes on LA-DOTD traffic cameras, forcing traffic to merge into the far left lane.

Traffic was stop-and-go west of mile marker 151 as of 4:03 p.m., according to traffic cameras.
