DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (BRPROUD) – The Denham Springs Police Department made an arrest in the Sunday night shooting that killed a man on Rushing Road West.

According to the police, Chase Nicholas Whalen, 32, of Denham Springs was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center and charged with manslaughter.

The victim, now identified as Daniel Debernardi, 39, of French Settlement was reportedly shot in the torso and sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Debernardi died as a result of the shooting, police said.
