Editor’s Note: This article has been updated with a correction from Gonzales police stating that Terraz White was out on house arrest at the time of his Feb. 7 arrest.
GONZALES, La. (BPRROUD) — On Tuesday, Feb. 7, the Gonzales Police Department and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested three people after a multi-month drug investigation.
According to GPD, agents investigated criminal activity at a residence in the 300 block of W. Bordelon Street. During the investigation, agents were able to identify known offenders visiting the residence.
Police identified one of the suspects as Terraz White, 23, a convicted felon and Ascension Parish fugitive. The police department said Terraz was seen armed during agents’ surveillance operations.
He was taken into custody by Gonzales police on Feb. 7 for an outstanding warrant with the sheriff’s office. Patrol officers responded to the home after someone was threatened to be shot. Narcotics agents followed after learning he was in custody and a search was conducted, according to Gonzales police.
Agents reportedly found and seized two rifles, a handgun, two ounces of marijuana, eight grams of methamphetamine and 4.5 ounces of an unknown powder substance.
Terraz was charged with three counts of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, three counts of illegal possession of a firearm while possessing a controlled dangerous substance, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I and II drugs, and an Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for felon in possession of a firearm.
The police department said at the time of his arrest, he was out on house arrest and has a pending murder charge in St. James Parish. He is currently awaiting trial for the murder charge.
Gonzales police identified the two other suspects arrested as Tykwan White, 25, and Tyren Porter, 18. Tykwan was charged with possession of marijuana and Porter was charged with a bench warrant for failure to appear.
