PRARIEVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms that Treyvon Donte Covingston, 24, of Baton Rouge has turned himself in to authorities. APSO says that Covingston after admitting to being involved in the theft.

Covingston is considered a suspect in this incident which involved three horses stolen from Prairieville, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. The horses were taken on Saturday, Feb. 25.

The horses were found in Baton Rouge after a search. APSO said one of the horses suffered severe injuries. Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with this case and there is an arrest warrant out for a third.

Covingston faces charges on five counts of simple burglary, three counts of theft of livestock, attempted theft of livestock, felony theft over $25,000, felony damage to property $1,000 – $50,000, three counts of contributing to delinquency of juveniles, criminal trespassing and animal cruelty.
