JARREAU, La. (BRPROUD) — Deputies arrested a man who allegedly shot and killed his wife and left another man injured in Pointe Coupee Parish.

According to Sheriff Renè Thibodeaux, the shooting happened at around 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 on Pecan Lane. He said the man injured in the shooting is at a Baton Rouge hospital in critical condition as of Thursday morning and the suspect’s wife was identified as Catherine “Jeanette” Roy, 80.

The suspect was identified as Clyde “Pat” Roy, 79. He was charged with one count each of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
