BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Baton Rouge police are investigating a Tuesday stabbing that left a 33-year-old man dead.
Police said the stabbing happened in the 3000 block of Amarillo Street around 5:26 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD), Anthony Jackson, 33, and De’Quan Hutchinson, 18, got into an argument that turned physical. Hutchinson allegedly stabbed Jackson.
Jackson was taken to a hospital Tuesday evening and died from his injuries on Wednesday.
BRPD said Hutchinson was initially arrested Tuesday on a charge of attempted second-degree murder. After Jackson’s death, the charge was upgraded to manslaughter.
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
