PORT ALLEN, La. (BRPROUD) — Two suspects are accused of stealing a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in a parking lot on March 17.
According to the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Nathan Dean, 39, of Lafayette, and Megean Allen, 35, of Baton Rouge are accused of cutting two catalytic converters from the same car in a Port Allen parking lot.
Detectives received a description of a vehicle and information that Dean and Allen were caught on camera stealing five gas cans from a home on Kahns Road, the sheriff’s office said.
Both suspects were taken into custody. During a search of Dean’s vehicle, detectives found a cutting tool, multiple blades and the two stolen catalytic converters.
