KLOTZVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – Jyrah Jamard Bringier, 30, of Donaldsonville remains behind bars on after he was apprehended on Tuesday night. An officer tried to get Bringier to stop after the Ascension Parish man reportedly committed a traffic violation.

Bringier did not comply and tried to get away from the officer, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Eventually, he stopped on LA 1. Bringier was questioned and taken into custody.

After arriving at the Assumption Parish Detention Center, “drugs were seized from within the transport unit and from the suspect’s person,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Bringier was charged with:

  • Obstruction of justice
  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
  • Possession of oxycodone
  • Taking contraband to/from a penal institution
  • Resisting an officer
  • Following too closely
  • Driving on roadway laned for traffic
  • Parole violator

Bond was set at $155,000 for Bringier, and Public Information Officer Lonny Cavalier confirmed he will not be able to get out of jail due to a parole violation.
