LIVINGSTON, La. (BRPROUD) – A man was sentenced to two decades behind bars after he pleaded guilty to incest Tuesday.

Charles Anthony Johnson Jr., 45, pleaded guilty to aggravated crime against nature-incestuous sexual acts, according to the 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

The victim told two people about the alleged abuse before an arrest was made by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office on October 17, 2022, the district attorney’s office said. “The guardian explained they did not wish to report the abuse since they violated a court order by having the victim be in the presence of a registered sex offender, Johnson,” according to officials.

The second person that the victim spoke with about the abuse was a school guidance counselor, who reported the incident to the Child Protection Investigation office.

Johnson was previously convicted of indecent behavior with juveniles in 2013 in Baton Rouge.
