NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — One of the eight suspects accused of an armed robbery at Cane Row Casino in September was transferred to the jail in Assumption Parish Thursday.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Norman Daniel Escalate-Guidel, 18, of Terrytown. He was arrested in Jefferson Parish in October on a weapons charge related to the investigation, the sheriff’s office said.

Escalate-Guidel is accused of demanding cash from the truck stop casino in Belle Rose with seven others on Thursday, Sept. 29.

He was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of armed robbery – use of a firearm and a detainer from the Department of Homeland Security.
