HOLDEN, La. (BRPROUD) — A brief investigation by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office into an armed robbery involving an 87-year-old man has led to two arrests.

49-year-old John Bailey, of Baton Rouge and 39-year-old Rauman Laurent, of Denham Springs, were apprehended and sent to the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

Bailey is facing these charges:

  • Armed Robbery
  • Attempted First Degree Murder
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm

Laurent is charged with Accessory After the Fact to Armed Robbery.

LPSO was able to seize stolen property including money.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office credits a tip from CrimeStoppers, good police work and forensics helping lead to an arrest in this case.

Multiple agencies contributed to this investigation including LSP Crime Lab, EBRSO and WBRSO.

The investigation remains ongoing and more arrests are possible in this case.
