ERWINVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a deadly shooting early Saturday morning.
The deadly shooting took place in the parking lot of the Raxx Bar & Grill at approximately 1:45 a.m.
An unidentified 21-year-old man was transported to a hospital with gunshot wounds.
That man died at the hospital and a 17-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.
The juvenile remains in custody.
District Attorney Tony Clayton is spearheading an investigation into why minors were allegedly allowed inside the Raxx Bar & Grill.
Along with that, Clayton is looking to have the Raxx Bar & Grill “shut down immediately pending the outcome of this investigation.”
Along with the agenda laid out above, DA Clayton is asking the West Baton Rouge Council “to consider whether the establishment has violated any local ordinances.”
The course of the investigation will be determined on Monday.
