DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (BRPROUD) – For some in the area, it was a night without power.

According to Entergy, “a tree fell from outside our right of way into our powerlines, damaging equipment and knocking out electric service to several thousand customers in the Greater Baton Rouge area.”

Central resident, Lorenzo White shared the attached photo which shows what it looked like on Sullivan Rd. around 2 a.m.

Central was not the only area affected by power outages overnight.

The latest from Entergy is that “crews worked to field switch and restore power to as many customers as possible but some remain without power in the Denham Springs area while repairs are ongoing.”

Customers in that area should expect to be without power for a bit because of the difficulty of the repairs.

According to Entergy, “the repairs will take time as the damaged equipment is off-road rather than being easily accessible from a street or highway.”

At this time, Entergy is estimating that power will be restored around 10 a.m.

Entergy shows that 585 customers are currently without power in Livingston Parish.

Demco is not showing anyone without power in the Denham Springs area.
