BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – As rain swept through the capital region and surrounding areas Sunday, Jan. 29, a number of roads flooded, resulting in multiple closures.
Road closures and areas with dangerously high water are listed below.
East Baton Rouge Parish
The City of Baton Rouge is reporting the following road closures:
- 1110 E Buchanan
- 3014 Alaska
- 740 W Chimes
- 7815 Highland
- 800-899 Van Buren Street
- Alvin Dark / Tigerland
- Bluebonnet/Highland
- Burbank At Nicholson
- Highland / W Grant
- Hundred Oaks Overpass near Perkins
- Lanier/Greenwell Springs
- Staring / Burbank
Areas that have reportedly sustained high water:
- Watch for flooding along Bluebonnet Boulevard near The Mall of Louisiana
- Watch for flooding in the Garden District



Livingston Parish
As of noon, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office deemed the following areas impassable:
WEST:
- Eden Church/Prince Charles
- Macarthur/Black Mud
- Tara/Glacier Bay
EAST:
- McLin Rd from the bridge to Texas St
- Several areas north of the 26700 block of Fire Tower Rd
- Leroy Magee – passable by truck or SUV
Deputies say that as of 12 noon, the following areas had high water:
DENHAM SPRINGS CITY:
- S Woodcrest/Florida
- Jean St/S Woodcrest
- Elmer St/Rushing
- Capital St/S Range
- North St/S Range
- Florida/Hummell
- Judy Street to N Range NB and some areas SB
