Date set for East Bank Little League to meet President Donald Trump

The East Bank Little League team is heading to the White House.

The team announced Tuesday it is set to meet President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Oct. 11.

The team won the Little League World Series title in August.

The team is comprised of 12-year-olds from the East Bank of Jefferson Parish.

The Little League World Series has been played since 1947. The East Bank team is the first group from the Greater New Orleans area to advance and win the famed tournament.

Also, the girls program of the East Bank league advanced to the Little League Softball World Series in Portland, Oregon, where the team finished as the national runner-up.
