LIVINGSTON, La. (BRPROUD) — A Denham Springs man was sentenced to 20 years after pleading no contest to a felony charge of cruelty to a juvenile on Friday, Feb. 10.
According to the 21st Judicial District Attorney Scott Perrilloux, Michael Bayham, 27, was arrested on May 15, 2022, after evidence was submitted showing Bayham abusing a young child.
After watching the video on May 14, authorities obtained an arrest warrant and a search warrant. The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office then learned that Bayham used his cell phone to record himself abusing the victim, physically and verbally.
Throughout the investigation, LPSO says they also arrested Jamie King for Cruelty to a Juvenile on June 14, 2022.
Bayham was sentenced to 20 years with the department of corrections and protective orders are in place preventing Bayham and King from contacting the victim.
