BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – District 10 Councilwoman Carolyn Coleman held a family fun day Sunday where she gave out school supplies and other things.

Coleman hosted a Family Sunday Funday to bring the entire district together to enjoy some fun in the community.

“You need to be able to enjoy life, but also take care of your business,” Coleman said.

Coleman wants to make sure children in the community have not only the supplies but also the knowledge.

“To bring all of the different entities together that can really provide some services for the constituents of district ten,” she continued.

All hands were on deck to make sure children were ready. The police department, local clinics, and multiple local agencies including a child welfare agency attended the event.

“Remember kindergarten is now the law now. So we need to be in school every day K through 12 we’re looking at education is the way. Our motto this year is nothing is impossible Everything is possible in E-B-R,” a member of Welfare and Attendance said.
