Nicole Amstutz – Used with Permission

COVINGSTON, La. (BRPROUD) – Many of us have probably seen journalists go outside when it is hot and fry an egg, but have you seen pizza dough expand because of the heat?

This story starts after Hurricane Ida, when on Wednesday, September 1, New Orleans native Nicole Amstutz stopped to snap a picture of a dumpster.

Nicole Amstutz – Used with Permission

This picture was taken outside of a Domino’s Pizza located on North Collins Blvd.

Amstutz was on her way back to New Orleans after evacuating for Hurricane Ida.

Around 45 minutes later, Nicole’s aunt, Ellen Agee took this picture:

The New Orleans native found out that a member of upper management at Domino’s Pizza had discarded all of the dough from the store into the dumpster because of Hurricane Ida.

These images were taken later in the day on September 1.

Naturally, Nicole went to check it out and get a close up look at the scene.

As you can imagine, the GM at the Domino’s location was embarrassed by what happened but Nicole is glad that spoiled food was disposed of in a timely manner.

The dumpster was replaced on Saturday, September 4.
