BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) –
DOTD is postponing the Interstate 12 widening groundbreaking ceremony due to the possibility of bad weather this week.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will host an Interstate 12 widening groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, August 24.
The ceremony is honoring the “beginning of construction on phase one and two of the I-12 expansion,” according to DOTD.
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the King.
Christ of the King is located at 22205 Little Creek Rd. in Mandeville.
Governor John Bel Edwards is one of the speakers who is scheduled to attend and the rest of the dignitaries that are expected at this event can be found below:

- U.S. Congressman Steve Scalise
- Senator Patrick McMath
- St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper
