Double Tax refunds issued in Louisiana on accident

Did you get double coins this tax season? Well, an abnormality caused double tax refunds to be issued  to nearly 66,000 taxpayers amounting to almost $26 million.

Division of Administration spokesman Jacques Berry says that The state is in the process of trying to recover all of the funds.

The double dose of taxes was noticed March 13th and they’ve been working to resolve the issue. Most of the refunds were sent as ACH transfers and banks are being contacted to reverse the overages.

Berry insists that if you received a larger refund, that you do not spend the money.
