Downtown Development District provides details on Baton Rouge Mardi Gras parades

With several festivals and parades just around the corner in the Capitol City, there’s no need to worry if you can’t make it to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras this year.

The Downtown Development District created the following list of local Carnival season events happening soon:

CAAWS Mystic Krewe of Mutts Mardi Gras Parade

This dog parade will take place Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at North Boulevard Town Square in Baton Rouge.

Krewe of Artemis

Celebrate Valentine’s Day by watching the all-female Krewe of Artemis parade through downtown Baton Rouge Friday at 7 p.m.

Krewe Mystique de la Capitale

Krewe Mystique de la Capitale will roll through the heart of the city Saturday, Feb. 15 starting at 2 p.m.

Krewe of Orion

Tractors will pull floats through downtown Baton Rouge Saturday, Feb. 15. The 20th annual Krewe of Orion Mardi Gras parade will roll from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., and it will begin on St. Philip Street.

Spanish Town Parade

The parade known for its upbeat atmosphere and pink-wearing party-goers will take place Saturday, Feb. 22 at noon.
