CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) – Two “heroes” were honored at the city council meeting in Central on Tuesday night.

Almost one month ago, Officer Glenn Phipps and Central Middle School 7th grader Londyn Landry jumped into action to save someone’s life.

“On the morning of November 19, 2022, while CPD officers were working a traffic assignment for Central’s 5K “Elf Run,” Central Middle School 7th grader Londyn Landry was alerted by an area resident in the Central City neighborhood of a man down and unresponsive underneath a carport,” according to the Central Police Department.

That is when Landry sprang into action.

The 7th grader was able to track down Officer Glenn Phillips.

The officer found the unresponsive man and thought he had a heart attack.

CPD said, “Officer Phillips relieved another good Samaritan and began CPR.”

The man was brought back to life and taken to a local hospital.

The unidentified man was expected to make a recovery.

The duo was honored at the city council meeting which took place between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. at 14025 Greenwell Springs Road.
