The East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Coalition will host a summit on accessing healthcare in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library located at 7711 Goodwood Blvd.
The event will join community advocates, practitioners and experts who will discuss the prison’s healthcare delivery issues. The goal of the summit is to make plans to ensure healthcare at the prison promotes public safety and upholds constitutional standards, according to the Rev. Alexis Anderson, a member of the EBRPPRC.
The event’s keynote speaker will be civil rights attorney David Utter from the Claiborne Firm in Savannah, Georgia, Anderson wrote.
