EBR coroner reports two more deaths due to COVID-19

News

22 people have now died due to the coronavirus in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Two more people have died since this same time on Thursday.

The ages of the latest victims ranged from 71 to 82.

East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner, William “Beau” Clark, released the details of the most recent deaths below:

My office has two (2) more confirmed COVID‐19 related deaths to report.
During the last 24 hours, my office has investigated the deaths of two East Baton Rouge Parish residents. Both were tested and were found to be positive for the COVID‐19 virus:

An 82 year old female, who was admitted to an area hospital via EMS on 3/31/2020. She died on
4/2/2020.

A 71 year old male, who was admitted to an area hospital on 3/29/2020. He died on 4/2/2020.
Each of the above patients had co‐morbidities present.

This brings our total COVID19 related confirmed deaths to 20 East Baton Rouge Parish residents, and 2 deaths of out of state residents (both from the Woodville, MS area) at Baton Rouge area hospitals.
Our condolences are extended to the families and friends of those lost to this disease.
