BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC Local 33) (FOX 44) — The Baton Rouge Fire Department is investigating a suspicious fire, which investigators believe to be intentionally set by an unknown person, according to a press release.
The blaze occurred at a duplex located at 3090 Calumet St. at 7:14 a.m. and resulted in a $29,000 loss. The fire department was accompanied by Baton Rouge Police, EMS and Entergy.
Firefighters arrived to the scene to find fire coming from a front window. The blaze was under control within 16 minutes.
No damage was reported to the other side of the building however, the home received heavy smoke damage.
No one was injured in the blaze.
