EBR Parish closing Head Start Centers, reopening dates coming in the future

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – East Baton Rouge Parish is having to close its Head Start Centers and the reason has nothing to do with COVID-19.

Repair work needs to be done to the Head Start Centers.

The mayor’s office is providing details about the temporary closure below:

Out of an abundance of caution and in the best interest of children, families and staff, all Head Start Centers will close immediately for facilities maintenance and repair work to air conditioning and ventilation systems. Our Head Start Program will keep parents informed in a timely manner regarding reopening dates.

There are ten Head Start Center locations throughout the city.
