BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The morning after the second presidential debate, voters in East Baton Rouge did their part by participating in early voting.

On October 23, hundreds stood in line for 30 to 45 minutes to cast their ballot.

Voter Patt Fontenot says watching the debate was part of her motivation to vote.

“My motivation mostly was to come early so I wasn’t in big lines to go and vote,” Fontenot said.

Others say the debate is helpful to watch, but they already knew their pick for the President of the United States.

“I had my mind made up,” Thomas Desormeaux said, “it’s our actual duty to vote as an actual citizen.”

Early voting will continue till Oct 27. from 8 a.m-7 p.m.

In just the first week of voting more than half a million Louisianans voted early.
