BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – There are 6,639 active employees in the East Baton Rouge School System.

A little over 64% of those employees have reported their current COVID-19 vaccination status.

In August, the EBRPSS School Board voted to require that all employees submit their vaccination status to the HR Department.

School started in East Baton Rouge Parish on August 11.

Instructions on how to notify your HR Department were disseminated at that time.

The deadline to make your vaccination status known has passed, according to the East Baton Rouge School System.

The deadline was October 1.

For those EBRPSS employees who have not declared their vaccination status, the school system is said to be providing support.

A full statement from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System can be found below:

Our Human Resources Department is working closely with our employees to support them in reporting their vaccination status. The goal has always been to ensure the safety of students and staff as we work together to fight the spread of Covid-19 in our community. We encourage any employee who has not yet reported their status to reach out to our Human Resources Department for support in doing so.

For those EBRPSS employees who have not made their vaccination status known, the East Baton Rouge School System is providing a timeline of procedures that will be followed below:
