EBRSO captures two robbery suspects at Sonic Drive-In on Siegen Ln.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Two robbery suspects led deputies on a brief chase Wednesday afternoon.

It all started at the Motel Six on Rieger Rd. off of Siegen Ln.

Two men allegedly stole money from a 17-year-old at the hotel pool.

The suspects were described this way:

  • Black male wearing black sweatshirt and red pants
  • Black male wearing red shirt with blue shorts

An EBRSO helicopter was already in the air at the time when it heard about the alleged robbery on the radio.

The helicopter assisted in the search for the suspects.

A foot chase ensued through the Target parking lot and the suspects crossed Siegen Ln.

The suspects were then captured at the Sonic Drive-In on Siegen Ln.

The two suspects are an unidentified 15-year-old and 20-year-old Kendrick Smith.

Both suspects are charged with armed robbery.

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, “the 17-year-old that was at the pool, also had two warrants for Theft of a Motor Vehicle, one for Burglary and a bench warrant.”

The 17-year-old was transported to juvenile detention.
