BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was called to a local gas station and convenience store overnight.

EBRSO says, “an alarm was called in informing that there was a glass break alarm at a business.”

Deputies arrived at the Citgo and Kangaroo Express on Jefferson Hwy. around 2 a.m.

Upon arrival, deputies saw significant damage to the front of the store.

EBRSO says that someone took the ATM from this location.

Detectives were able to view surveillance footage which showed “a black Chevrolet Silverado, equipped with a camper shell, back up to the store front at approximately 1:30 am.,” according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

Three suspects are then seen at this location.

“Once at the window, two suspects exit the vehicle while the third is operating the vehicle and one” breaks the front glass with a sledge hammer, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

EBRSO says that from there, “the second suspect fastens a tow strap to the ATM and the driver pulls the ATM out of the store.”

All three suspects were required to pick the ATM up and put it on the vehicle.

The vehicle then left the scene.
