EBRSO K-9 Deputies help capture suspects after shooting

News

Around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a reported shooting.

EBRSO said, detectives arrived at the 5000 block of Cherryl Dr. and were told by the victim that someone had forced their way into the home with a weapon.

Gunshots could be heard outside of the home and “the victim’s step sons immediately engaged in a physical altercation with the armed suspect at the door who was later transported to the hospital for treatment,” according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

Neighbors on Cherryl Dr. alerted police that they saw men running away from the victim’s driveway.

At this point, EBRSO sent their K-9 Deputies out to find the suspects.

The K-9 Deputies caught two of the suspects and the last suspect was found in front of the home.

The K-9 Deputies helped capture 21-year-old Jarred Hopkins and 18-year-old Rayshawn Rogers .
