BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – An investigation led by EBRSO Narcotics Agents ended with the arrest of a suspected drug dealer.

Agents watched 29-year-old Tyler Wood for two weeks and “during the investigation, agents conducted two controlled purchases of fentanyl from Wood,” according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

EBRSO Narcotics Agents then located Wood with the help of an EBRSO K-9.

A traffic stop was initiated on Tuesday, October 18.

Wood allegedly jumped out of a 2018 Infinity SUV and tried to get away from agents.

Prior to being caught, Wood is said to have ditched a gun.

Wood was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Tuesday, October 18.

Subsequent searches led to the seizure of the items listed below:

  • 1.6 ounces of Fentanyl (approx. street value $3,600)
  • .5 grams of methamphetamine
  • 11 dosage units of suboxone
  • Glock 9mm handgun
  • Taurus 9mm handgun
  • Fentanyl/heroin press
  • scales and baggies with fentanyl residue
  • $3,205 (pending seizure)
  • 2018 Infiniti Q60 SUV (pending seizure)

The alleged drug dealer was charged with the crimes laid out below:

  • Distribution of Sch. II (Fentanyl/2 counts)
  • PWITD Sch. II (Fentanyl)
  • PWITD Sch. II (Meth)
  • PWITD Sch. III (Suboxone)
  • Poss. of a Firearm with Drugs
  • Poss. of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Aggravated Flight
  • Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Illegal Use of Drugs in the Presence of a Minor

EBRSO also arrested and charged 27-year-old Brooklynn Bonner.

Bonner was charged with PWITD Sch. II (Fentanyl), PWITD Sch. II (Meth), PWITD Sch. III (Suboxone), Poss. of a Firearm with Drugs, Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia and Illegal Use of Drugs in the Presence of a Minor.
