According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, the teenage boy died this morning.

Authorities say the boy was walking home with a friend on Ottawa Drive on Monday afternoon when three males approached them.

From there, the three males allegedly instigated a fight with the victim and at one point, one of them shot the 17-year-old.

The three suspects then ran away.

Since then, the EBRSO says one arrest has been made in the case.

A 16-year-old boy was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center after being questioned at an area hospital Monday while getting treatment for a gunshot wound to the arm.

It’s believed the 16-year-old suspect was accidently shot when the victim was shot.

Two of the suspects at still at large.
